mailCMS is built by Wax Media, a specialist email marketing agency founded in 2007. For nearly two decades, we've been designing, building and coding emails for brands across every major ESP and customer engagement platform, from Braze and Salesforce to HubSpot, Marketo, Bloomreach and beyond.
mailCMS exists because we spent all that time learning what CRM and marketing teams actually need from their email tooling, and built the platform we wished existed.

Born from real-world email production
When you've spent years building emails for other organisations, you develop strong opinions about what works and what doesn't. You see the same problems over and over again: talented marketing teams held back by inflexible editors, beautiful brands diluted by the limitations of whatever tool happened to come bundled with their platform, and design quality that varies wildly from send to send because there's no system holding it together.
mailCMS started as our answer to those problems. Not a generic email builder designed for everyone, but a content management system for email, purpose-built to pair bespoke design systems with a structured editor that enforces brand standards by default.
We didn't set out to build a SaaS product. We set out to give our clients a better way to produce email. The product grew from there.
Practitioners, not just developers
The team behind mailCMS isn't a software company that decided to enter the email space. We're email practitioners who built a platform to solve problems we understand first-hand, because we've sat in the same rooms, worked within the same platform constraints, and navigated the same conversations about what's technically possible in the inbox.
That background shapes everything about how mailCMS works. The editor is built around the realities of email production, not a generalised idea of what content management should look like. The design system approach exists because we've seen what happens without one. The platform integrations work the way they do because we've configured the ESPs on the other end.
When we onboard a new client, we're not learning their world for the first time. We've been working in it for years.
