Fallbacks take care of themselves

Some inboxes can’t show interactive email, so every interactive module comes with a fallback. For most modules it’s built from the same content, so by the time your team has filled in a carousel, the fallback is already done.

FAQs

Which inboxes can show interactive email?

It varies from inbox to inbox, and it changes over time. Apple Mail supports the most, and according to Litmus it accounts for more than 60% of email opens. Other inboxes show some interactions or none at all, which is why every interactive module comes with a fallback.

What do subscribers see if their inbox can’t show it?

The fallback, which we design at the same time as the interactive version. For a carousel, that’s usually the slides stacked one after another. For hotspots, it’s an image of your choice with its own link.

Can you build an interactive module we haven’t seen before?

Very likely. If we can find a way to make it editable in mailCMS, we can build it. Tell us what you have in mind and our team will scope it with you.

Are interactive modules tested?

Yes. Like every module in your design system, they’re tested on real devices and in Email on Acid, along with their fallbacks, before your team ever uses them.

Do interactive modules work with our ESP?

Yes. They export with the rest of your email, whether you send it straight to your ESP or download the HTML.
